The major refurbishment of Bidwell’s existing Cambridge head office will provide the company with a modern flagship office to support the growing needs of the team through incorporation of an innovative “agile working environment” concept and ethos.
Working with Bidwells’ in-house project management teams and main contractor COEL, Munro Building Services led on the Mechanical and Electrical Installation. With the focus being on building an agile working space that is conducive for the sharing of ideas and bringing teams closer together, the M&E services that totalled over £1.5m had to help achieve this aspiration. Built over 3 floors, the new office consists of a 100 seat café, a large marketing suite for staff and customers on the ground floor, and 2 floors of open plan office suites designed to provide flexible space for all employees.
The new M&E services consisted of lighting, data, power, fire alarm, ventilation, heating, BMS, hot and cold domestic services and drainage, air conditioning, a boiler room and roof mounted mechanical plant. All of these services help create a comfortable working environment for the staff at Bidwell House as well as enhance the reputation of the Cambridge business community.
